This practice will explore the somatic experience of the Wood element by stimulating the meridians of our liver and gallbladder. When out of balance these pathways are associated with excess anger, judgement and frustration, by bringing movement to our stagnancy we can transform our judgements into discernment and our anger into a useful and nourishing energy to create healthy boundaries in our life. When our wood element is in balance we experience more flexibility, resilience and adaptability.
We need wood to fuel our inner fire. Many of may not even realise we are unable to act, living in “fawn” or “functional freeze” states. We must connect with our anger. Welcome it. Not to direct it at others but to use its energy for action. To act in this world. To create boundaries to protect ourselves. To say NO.
Let’s open up a space to explore the sense of what it means to be embodied.
Through meditation, movement, soundscape, breath and sensation let’s take a deep somatic dive into direct experience. Let’s taste the body’s natural capacity for unwinding and become the space from which the unravelling of deeply held tensions can occur.
When these tensions release we experience space from our conditioned and reactive ways of being. Energy becomes uninhibited and moves effortlessly and ease-fully through our bodies.
This is an invitation for you to disengage with your habitual way of doing life through subtle mental filters and open up to what is alive under the surface. To plunge into non-conceptual awareness through intentional inquiry and presence. To listen for the non-verbal response of the body. To access true intimacy with reality.
This space is welcome to all, whatever background or movement ability.
It asks you to find a quiet space where you can feel safe and be uninterrupted for around 90 minutes.
A playlist will be shared prior to the session which requires a Spotify premium account.
The suggested donation for the session is £10 - £25.
I understand that is not available to everyone, please don’t let your financial situation hold you back from joining us. Everybody is welcome. Please contact me if you are unable to donate.
Sunday sessions are currently oriented towards slowing down.
