Somatic Exploration - Wood
This practice will explore the somatic experience of the Wood element by stimulating the meridians of our liver and gallbladder. When out of balance these pathways are associated with excess anger, judgement and frustration, by bringing movement to our stagnancy we can transform our judgements into discernment and our anger into a useful and nourishing energy to create healthy boundaries in our life. When our wood element is in balance we experience more flexibility, resilience and adaptability.
Somatic Exploration - Fire
Transformative fire is the nature of the universe.
What is true when all that is ready to be is burned away?
To arrive at truth we must be prepared to burn away the dross.
In this practice we will explore embodied experience through the element of fire, using the map of meridian lines of heart, small intense, pericardium and triple warmer. We will use meditation, self massage, breath, organic movement and movement containers to stoke our internal fires.
If it if possible, please bring 2 blocks, a bolster or cushions, and a candle.
Let’s open up a space to explore the sense of what it means to be embodied.
Through meditation, movement, soundscape, breath and sensation let’s take a deep somatic dive into direct experience. Let’s taste the body’s natural capacity for unwinding and become the space from which the unravelling of deeply held tensions can occur.
Winter Solstice Embodiment Celebration
Join for a winter solstice embodiment movement meditation to honour the pause of this sacred time of darkness, in sweet anticipation just before the light begins to return. This container will explore the pause and the pulse. We will move through different somatic containers, connecting to the pulse of life, and celebrate the gift of embodiment as we connect to our bodies through rhythm.
Expect an immersion into direct experience of being through pulsing movement, pausing, expressing, releasing, dancing. All in the play of ecstatic aliveness!
This space is welcome to all, whatever background or movement ability.
Practice Space:
Intentional creation of your container is important for this practice,
it will contribute significantly to the deepening of your experience.
This practice asks you to find a quiet space where you can feel safe and be uninterrupted for around 90 minutes.
Please take time before class to set your practice space up.
Please consider as many of the following elements as possible.
Low/warm lighting - ideally candlelight.
Soft ground - a rug, yoga mat, or blanket covering the floor -ground to give yourself over into.
Burning incense or scented candle - any fragrance you may associate with meditative practice.
Cushions/bolster, blanket and yoga block - these props are not essential but will support you.
Secure container - consider closing the windows and doors to your space, create a sacred boundary.
Temperature - make sure you're warm enough.
Bluetooth speaker for enhanced sound quality.
A playlist will be shared prior to the session which requires a Spotify premium account.
The suggested donation for the session is £10 - £25.

As we explore the rivers of our energetic landscape we will melt unconscious frozen parts of ourselves and make more space for fluidity, clarity and creativity. Empowering ourselves to step into the unknown.

These questions will be explored through meditation, movement, soundscape, ritual, somatic containers, touch and self inquiry. We open up space for the deep truth of our bodies to answer. A space where our bones hum and our fluids sing.

This practice will explore the somatic experience of the Metal element by stimulating the meridians of our lungs and large intestine. These pathways are associated with grief, shame and sadness, bringing movement to our stagnancy can invite letting go and opening. When we feel our grief by honouring what is ready to die, it opens us to new life. Metal gives us the tools to work with difficult emotions, strengthening our ability to let go into the continuous flow of creation and dissolution of our experience. We are welcomed into a greater sense of emotional buoyancy and ease.

There are dynamics to the movement of energy in bodies.
In this practice we will drop into our felt sense of energetic undercurrents. Following on from our last journey of deep listening, we now immerse into those subtle yet fundamental vibrations we got quiet enough to hear.
When the ancient yogis sat, got still and listened they came to directly realise these directional primal energies at play. We know this force as Prana, life force energy.
Rising, falling, expanding, contracting in the dynamic rhythmic pulsation that is this universe. These fundamental movement patterns are reflected everywhere from the cosmos to vegetation to animal bodies. In this practice we relax into deep meditation where experience is simple, tangible, underlying everything. Allow our bodies to spiral and bend and Let’s give over our knowledge of what we think into the deeply felt wisdom of our bodies, and be carried away into the spontaneous creation of each moment.

In this practice we will ground down, open up and connect to the deep nourishment of the earth element. Stimulating stagnancy and restoring balance in the stomach and spleen meridians, which when out of balance are associated with worry, anxiety and low self esteem. We ground down so we can rise up, absorbing the nutrients of the vast soils of our being so that we may flourish in clarity and acceptance.

This practice is oriented towards deep listening. We will embark upon a somatic journey into the depths of our sensory experience and practice listening with the whole body.
We are habituated to understanding listening as a job performed by the ears. Historically our ancestors connected in a significantly deeper and more nuanced way to their environment (inner and outer), by engaging in a much more holistic sensual experience, this practice will be an invitation into that remembering.

Join this practice oriented around void. We will journey inwards and explore space at the end of the exhale.
We will play in the in-between space, the point after dissolution, before the creative rebirth. This practice is an invitation to connect to primal energetics at the fundamental level of experience.
This powerful container will offer less structure than you may be used to in traditional embodiment classes, the invitation is to open to deep meditation on somatic experience. We will use breath, soundscape and meditative movement practices to enter a place the mind cannot comprehend, a space of neither existence nor none existence. A place which hums with the infinite potentiality of the pregnant eternal. Come swim in the unfathomably deep waters of the void.
This container is not recommended for those new to practice and participants must come with a desire to explore the deep unknown.

Join this practice on the dark moon oriented around dissolution. We will journey inwards to explore the embodied experience of dissolving and dissolution through soundscape, meditation on the sensual textures of our direct embodied experience. This practice is an invitation to connect to primal energetics at the fundamental level of experience. In this season of fall, we witness the natural world around us in the cycle of renewal, this is an opportunity to meet the felt sense of that within your own body, an invitation to invoke the shedding of your own deep layers of conditioning. This powerful container will offer less structure than you may be used to in traditional embodiment classes, the invitation is to open to deep meditation on somatic experience.
